I tried several toasters before finding this one. All four people in our family like our toast, waffles and bagels toasted differently and this DeLonghi is making us all happy! It toasts the cut side of a bagel and leaves the rounded side chewy and warm, it's soo good! from Amazon.com I don't have this toaster but I have a Delonghi and it sucks. Uneven toasting and slow. from Amazon.com I bought this toaster primarily because of the wide holes. All four people in our family like our toast, waffles and bagels toasted differently and this DeLonghi is making us all happy! from Amazon.com It does take up quite a bit of counter space, but the larger size keeps it from getting terribly hot when I've used it...that's actually great...after making alot of toast, it doesn't burn me when I slide it back in it's corner. The only thing that takes some getting used to is the need to push the button to get your toast early. I guess alot of the more expensive toasters are like this, so it's not really a problem, just an observation. from Amazon.com
