one of my biggest hesitations about the breville, aside from humorous price, was the reviews suggesting it was unable to toast evenly.

the price of this breville is a bit hard to take, however it performs beautifully and is built like the sturdy toasters i remember as a kid while having very modern features.

i called breville, e-mailed them a copy of my purchase order they e-mailed me a return-for-free shipping label and two weeks later i had a new toaster without the defect.(it's now 3 monthes later)

ok, i only bought the breville ct70xl ikon 2-slice electric toaster so it would look well (with the breville water kettle and the breville espresso machine) for the brushed steel look.

so this breville toaster was a welcomed surprise!
