We really like this product. It has worked well for us both toasting and convection oven. The only concern is that the dials are too small and are unable to read withoutglasses. from Cooking.com If the timer doesn't work or the temperature knob is lose one should take it back and exchange it. The top or sides don't get anywhere as hot as the huge Kenmore, or the Kenmore Elite we tried last, or even the Krups. We are not concerned with perfect toast but we use it daily for cooking purposes and it works well for that purpose. The only major limitation is that the vertical space is limited -a common problem- and using the grill in the lowest position will burn the bottom Another minor criticism is that nice big non stick pan warped. from Amazon.com Bread at room temperature toasts perfectly; bread out of the freezer toasts perfectly.
