After reading both pros and cons I decided to purchase the toaster. I found, like the other cons, the lowest level did produce burnt toast. We immediately contacted DeLonghi to see if there was anything we could do to rectify the problem. DeLonghi asked the typical questions.. from Amazon.com I bought a DeLonghi Model XD479B digital toaster several years ago and enjoyed consistent toasting and baking results. My wife recently complained of its discolored appearance so I bought a Model DO400 as a replacement. from Amazon.com I bought this oven to repalce the Delonghi toster oven, it lasted ten years. I called their customer service line to ask if I was doing something wrong. I was told that many people complain about this and if I don't like my toast burned I should return it, That is exactly what I did. from Amazon.com I've baked quite a lot in it so far. It cooks very evenly. Downside is that it can sometimes take quite a bit longer to bake food than a regular oven.
