I found the Andromeda galaxy easily in binoculars, but couldn't even get the scope on the Orion nebula, seeing all the stars around it with the naked eye easily.

So far, in the Baltimore and Washington suburbs, I've been able to start observing Jupiter, the Moon, some stars, and the Great Galaxy in Andromeda (the galaxy was still faint/blurred in the telescope but that was a night of serious moonlight).

I've had some great views of the Orion nebula, crab nebula, mars, venus, Comet tuttle 8p, andromeda galaxy, and the moon.
