im really picky, did alot of reading this is really nice made scope, better then a cheasy meade i had and returned cuz it was garbage and the view finder was bogus, and didnt work, [...] this scope is soild, steel tripod, steel base where motor sits.

The first scope had to be returned to Celestron because the tracking motor would not function on the day that I unpacked it.

Only thing I would have to say negatively about this unit is the mount that holds it to the Goto device - mine slid off one night as the vibrations of the movement loosened the screw clamping the telescope to the motor.
