making sure the tripod is perfectly level, setting the time as accurately as possible, and using actual gps coordinates (instead of the nearest city) helps things stay lined up.

to help this, add some weight to the accessory tray on the tripod, and i've found that using heavier eps help as well (but not too heavy!) - i would recommend buying two quality plossl or similar eps
