Pros: Well constructed and designed.? Easy adjustments.? Great stand and mobility. The Bottom Line: It would be a difficult decision if Ridgid had more accessories and was safer because I liked its height, cost, and warranty. Bosch just has too much going for it. Review: I researched as much as I could find about portable table saws before I settled on the more expensive Bosch 4100-09 over the Ridgid TS2400LS. from Shopping.com The saw was shipped via freight in the Bosch box. Normally this bugs me, but in this case Bosch has bombproof inner packing with lots and lots of custom styrofoam pieces. from Amazon.com Think about that for a second - a 124 pound box delivered on a palate via next day air service - incredible. In order to avoid the 4-hour home delivery window (and excess handling), I made arrangements with the shipper to pick the package up at their distribution center, which was conveniently located, during my lunch break. The saw itself (and stand) were easy to assemble, and intuitive to use. Fit and finish were good right out of the box, although a reasonable amount of typical adjustments were required. from Amazon.com cannot be attributed to the aforementioned failure in the motor. My other complaints about this saw even before its meltdown are its lack of practical ergonomics and quite possible the worst ripfence system ever devised! Older models of this saw used to include a collapsible stand that broke down flat like a card table and was great for jobsite portability. The gravity stand, while it may look like a cadillac on the sales floor is a cumbersome beast that requires attachment of the saw to the stand with four bolts and makes moving the saw independent of the stand impossible without their removal. from Amazon.com This saw was hugely beneficial. Great blade and power -- very clean cuts (even after all that use still cuts like butter). The wheeled stand is the ideal combination of portability and stability. EVERYTHING ABOUT THE SAW WAS GREAT THE LEGS/STAND, SOFT START UP WITH NICE POWER KINDA BOGGED DOWN WITH HICKORY, THE FENCE STINKS BAD HANGS UP NOT EASY I WOULD BUY ONE IF THE FENCE WAS BETTER. I LIKE MY DEWALTS THE RACK AND PINION IS GREAT JUST PAY ATTENTION TO THE FENCE TO BLADE AND TUNE UP THE TAPE INDICATOR SO YOULL BE MORE EFFICIENT. from Amazon.com
