it seems as though regardless of product descriptions that say they accommodate a 17in laptop, those of us who have one know that's not always the case. from Amazon.com i have a new sager np9280 which has a desktop core i7 processor and a nvidia gtx 280m graphics card so it gets really hot especially under load. from Amazon.com this item works well with gaming notebooks so don't bother getting it if you're too concerned with ergonomics or other issues dealing with physical comfort. from Newegg.com its obviously designed for gaming laptops to be used on desks, so its not the most comfortable thing to have on your lap, but you cant knock something for not doing something well that it wasnt from Newegg.com if you have a notebook that needs cooling, and/or are looking for something that matches your 1200 case (like i was) this is the cooler for you. from Newegg.com my computer burnt up the gpu and cpu in december while using the old cooler, and that prompted me to spend the money for the new one. from Amazon.com your results will vary based on where your vents are, your cpu, ram size and room temp. from Newegg.com this cooler has for sure saved my laptop, lowering temperatures of the gpu, cpu, and monitor by as much as 5c each. from Amazon.com keeps my cpu temps around 35c and gpu temp under 40c during normal use and increases to 40c and 50c respectively during heavy use. from Newegg.com i highly recommend this one if you have a gaming laptop. from Newegg.com
