we use an umbrella if we know we are going to have to be somewhere where it would be easier to fold up the stroller, such as on the subway or other tight places.

the cup holder is pretty heavy duty but it's a little tricky when you're folding the stroller with it on.

the stroller itself weight 12 kilos or around 24 lbs, but it's so compact when folded, that you don't feel the weight.
