Strollers for Twins Buying Guide

If you have been blessed with twice the joy – and twice the trouble – you know that having twins can make the logistics of childcare a little tricky. Luckily, when it comes to putting your twins on wheels, there are many kinds of strollers designed for twins available. Whether you plan to use it for traveling, grocery shopping, going to a park, or a trip to the mall, finding the right one can help make your life much easier.

Regardless of which type you choose, it’s important to purchase a sturdy stroller that can stand up to some wear and tear. Your stroller should be comfortable for your twins and should last a few years.

Travel System Strollers consist of infant car seats that may also be used as carriers, then transferred to a wheeled base to become a stroller. This type of stroller can last for a few years and can stand everyday wear and tear. Many find the convenience of transferring their children directly from the car to the stroller appealing, but the travel system may not be right for you if you have a small trunk, as it is quite bulky.

Tandem strollers seat your twins one behind the other for a longer, more narrow profile. Tandem strollers are often less expensive and more easily maneuvered. If trunk space is an issue for you, the tandem stroller may be your best bet.

Side-by-side strollers seat your twins next to each other on a wide base. If your twins are prone to kicking, a side-by-side stroller might be the right option for you. Keep in mind that side-by-side strollers have a large surface area, which can be inconvenient in malls or stores, due to limited aisle space, or in windy areas, where they may become more difficult to push.

Jogging strollers are usually side-by-side and are unique since they have one wheel in front and two in the back for more stability. Jogging strollers are good for active families, but do require extra trunk space.

Choose a stroller that is comfortable, practical and durable and secure for your twins. Whether it’s a tandem, side-by-side, or the Travel System, you’ll find a type of stroller that’s just right for you!
