When we first received the Baby Jogger City Series Double stroller (24 hours after ordering, no less), I was extremely excited, as were my children. We previously owned a Schwinn Safari TT and while it was still functional, it was getting a bit rough around the edges. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the hardware on the stroller and my children (4 1/2 and almost 3 years old) fit beautifully in it. The canopies were great for shielding them from the sun and it slides in and out of doorways like a breeze. However, within two weeks, I had noticed that the fabric on the seats had begun to separate from the seams. I contacted Baby Jogger directly and they offered to replace the seating, but the color we choose is on back order until mid-November. If my children happen to fall through their seats prior to then, I should contact the company. In the meantime, I have noticed that the stitching on the canopies has begun to fray as well. I don't know if this is a problem exclusive to my stroller, but I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the fabric and the construction. When you have to justify a $550 stroller purchase by emphasizing the superiority of the brand, it makes you feel a bit silly to have it falling apart one month after purchase. I don't know if anyone else has experinced these issues but it would definitely make me think twice about ordering this stroller. While the people at Baby Jogger have been cooperative, it is a major disappointment to have to deal with this kind of defect. from Joggingstroller.com I purchased this stroller with the intent of using it for my two daughters who are 13.5 mths apart. Ths description states birth-5 years. However my daughter is 3 months old and it still has not worked for us. It does recline all the way which is nice. HOwever I had to purchase a baby snuggli infant neck support bc there was not one attached. Also, this stroller is very heavy even though it's one of the lightest on the market. It's awkward to fold. It folds by pulling in the middle and its hard for me to do even though I am an athletic 5'9" female. I think this stroller will be great,when my girls are 8 months and up, but for now, it does not work for a infant. I am a little disappointed at this age. My oldest loves it, so I am hoping when they are both bigger it will meet my expectations. Comments from the Staff K, thanks a lot for the review. There is not an infant car seat adaptor available for the City Series Double stroller, which would probably solve your issue. Infant inserts like the Kiddopotamus Snuzzler or JJ Cole Bundle Me can pad out the seat of your stroller seat to make it better suited for an infant. Remember that the City Series Double has a 100 lbs weight max. It might not be perfect now but will be useful in the months and for five or six years to come. And we must disagree with you about the fold being "awkward" - most of our customers think it's genius! from Joggingstroller.com After a lot of research we purchased the City Series Double stroller (Lilac - very nice!). Our children love it. It is easy for my 3 1/2 year old to get in and out of at the zoo by himself (sitting unstrapped)but impossible to get out of when strapped. This is the only stroller our ten month old will sleep in; the seats are easy to recline. The seats are divided with a wall so she isn't bumped or sat on when our son gets in and out. It turns on a dime, goes over gravel, sand, and mulch effortlessly, and is very easy to push - even one handed. The handle bar adjusts to multiple angles for various heights. It has a lot of room for the kids to sit comfortably, there is a lot of head room (our son is in the 95th percentile for height and he isn't crowded with the canopy). The fabric is super easy to clean - not much sticks to it, the shade canopy provides an abundant amount of protection from the sun and has various angles.We can fit through any door and most areas in stores.I ordered the parent tray with it - a must have!Really the only things I don't like about the stroller is it is heavy and a little aquward to open. There is also not a lot of storage space, more than most joggers but not a lot. We do a lot of day walking trips to theme parks and pack for the day. I tried and returned two other double strollers before settling on the Baby Jogger City Series Double. For the benefit of readers, the two "rejects" were the Ingelsina Swift (great stroller, but my toddler was too tall/wide for it), and the Tike Tech Trax 360 (the wheel was defective, and they offered to exchange the stroller at no charge but I would have had to wait months and I couldn't do that). The Baby Jogger City Series Double is the perfect stroller for me, and it could be the best stroller for you if you have similar needs. My kids are big and will get bigger, and the Baby Jogger seats will accommodate big kids. The versatile swivel canopy is great--it provides huge coverage, so I can be lazy about sunblock, and it swivels all the way down in case you are walking directly into the sun. It pushes like a dream, and has real front wheel suspension. It is great for power walks and light jogs. I am not a serious runner, so I can't speak about that. The stroller does fit through most doors of neighborhood stores, barely. Incidentally, the Tike Tech Trax 360 Double looks like the Baby Jogger City Series Double for $150 less, but it has NO SUSPENSION, a mediocre canopy, and other details that have a very cheap-o feel to them. Personally, I feel the higher quality of the Baby Jogger over the Tike Tech Trax 360 was worth the extra money. from Joggingstroller.com Love, love, love this stroller! I have a 2 1/2 year old, and a 6 week old, the stroller pushes nice and even despite the weight difference. The seat back reclines almost flat, perfect for my little one who can't sit up yet. My older daughter is 39" tall, and she has plenty of room in this as well. The shades are so easy to use, and don't get flimsy and fall in the middle like some other strollers do. The swivel wheels are great for turning. It also fits through a standard door very nicely. I would highly recommend this stroller. Another must is the stroller tunes speaker system. It's great to be able to listen to music again while we walk and run! from Joggingstroller.com After the birth of our twins, we were gifted a jogging stroller with a fixed front wheel. Neither my wife nor I liked it but persisted not knowing there was something better out there. At a picnic we stumbled across a friend with older twins using the BOB urban duallie stroller and really liked the way that pushed. We went out the next day and bought that but when we put our 6 mo. old twins in it, they just didn't fit. The seat was too flat causing them to slide forward and ride the crotch strap and more significantly, the shoulder straps were anchored too high which caused them not to rest over there shoulders but to come down across the side our our kids heads along the ears. After searching and reading the reviews here, we decided to try the Baby Jogger and we have been very pleased. The seats are "bucketed" enough so that they stay against the back and the adjustable shoulder strap position means that they just "fit". We haven't found a door we couldn't fit through with this and the adjustable handle bar is very convenient. We wish the storage compartment was bigger and more accessible but that is a trade off we are willing to make. from Joggingstroller.com After my 4th stroller purchase, I finally found the baby jogger and couldn't be happier. My daughter is extremely tall and I needed something that would be the right height for her. This stroller is perfect. I also tried the Tike Tech 360 as well as the Valco, but my daughter's head was higher than the back on both of those. This stroller is also lighter than the Valco, and even though not quite as fancy, it is perfect for both strolling down the street or at the mall. I think it should have come with a tire pump and wind/rain shield, but other than that, I just absolutely love this stroller. I do a TON of research before I buy anything really pricey, and definitely think this stroller is worth the $$. It rides very smooth and is easy to handle. I plan on taking it to Disney World in the fall as I needed a 2 seater for my kids and think this one will be perfect for them. It is comfortable and at the same time, easy enough to maneuver around. It has a nice storage area underneath. I would recommend buying the bar that goes across the seat as the kids love to hold on to it or just have somewhere to put their hands. I also did purchase the cup holder that fits across the push bars at the top to hold my water bottle. We have 2 kids, aged 2 and almost 4 months, so I shopped for the stroller that could do it all, taking our family out walking/running, on park visits, trips to the zoo or the beach, and shopping. Because of our children's ages, we wanted to invest in a quality stroller that would last us for years and this stroller definitely fits the bill. And, because it's a jogger, it handles like a dream. You can drive it with one hand while sipping a drink with the other. We looooove our Baby Jogger! We've owned ours for 2 months now, and it has been everywhere, on the beach, out for all day trips, and shopping trips, and it's in use for a long walk with the kids almost daily. The stroller fits comfortably in the trunk of our car, a VW Passat, and the latch means that I can get it in the trunk without worrying about the stroller unfolding. Folding the stroller is so easy and quick, a must with 2 kids needing my attention! The stroller is narrow and we've had no trouble navigating it through doorways. One of our favorite features is the adjustable handlebar. Not only can it adjust easily between adult users, but setting it on the lowest setting allows my 2 year old to help us push once in awhile. The recline feature is simple to use, which makes it nice to adjust the recline for our youngest. The individual floating canopies have the most coverage on a stroller that we've seen. I can easily adjust the sun coverage to each child's needs. Switching from swivel to fixed wheel mode is easy to do. And, because of the double jogger design, little feet can't kick the wheels, which is an added bonus! The wrist strap is easy to use and quickly attaches to the handlebar with velcro when not in use. The storage is great for someone who is using this for a workhorse stroller. Behind each seat is a large mesh pocket, great for holding the snack bag, a hat, toys, etc., and a small zippered compartment that is perfect for storing the car keys and a cell phone. The under stroller stroller basket holds more than I expected. We compared this stroller to the BOB Revolution Duallie. The BOB seems more tailored to people who intend to use this primarily for running, not for someone like me who gets the stroller in and out of the back of a sedan several times a day. The BOB's folding mechanism was bulky, the storage not as user friendly, and the canopy retracted using a string mechanism that my precocious toddler found irresistible (and I found annoying). Facing such a high dollar purchase, I wanted to love absolutely everything about the stroller, which is why we finally chose the Baby Jogger. It was the easiest baby item I've ever assembled. Aside from all the wonderful features that everyone else has already mentioned, other features include straps that can't get tangled! It seems like such a small thing, but these straps have a little swivel function that enables you to keep them lying flat and keep the kids strapped in safely. I have the McClaren double stroller for everyday use in the city but wanted something I could use in the country/park on weekends. I absolutely love this jogger..I ran 6 miles my first jaunt out and another 4 the next day. Excellent ride, easy gliding without worry due to the safety strap. Love the floating canopies with sun roofs - provides excellent coverage. The new handlebar material is much more durable than the older 2006 models...still hits you in the shins when you fold it..kind of a bother. I would recommend this stroller to anyone who wants to casually stroll or rack on serious jogging miles.
