Pros: Theoretically sounds like a great deal. Cons: My realization is that eSATA is poorly understood & shabbily implemented. I bought this card; Windows refused to read the drivers on the CD; finally got the drivers to load; the SIIG ExpressCard Host Bus Adapter was recognized and my Computer could see the LaCie d2 Quadra. So far everything seems good. from Newegg.com Perhaps it's because I'm running Vista 64, but SIIG CLAIMs they support that OS... and this product just doesn't, not very well. from Amazon.com After downloading the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website, the SIIG Esata II Expresscard works fine. I have two 750GB Seagate Freestyle eSata external drives hooked up to my HP laptop for storing my music files (I rip everything in .wav). from Amazon.com once the right drivers are in the kernel (i compile my own...not sure whether or not they're in most prebuilt kernels), it just works when you put the card in. from Amazon.com just got this card and inserted it into my laptop (running windows 7 beta) and it found and installed the card perfectly. from Amazon.com i did not find the problems of other reviewers who reported needing to reboot when idle. from Amazon.com seagate 7200.10 320gb sata hard drive, in an azio corp. from Amazon.com no sata device plugged into this card works with this card. from Newegg.com i bought this card; windows refused to read the drivers on the cd; finally got the drivers to load; the siig expresscard host bus adapter was recognized and my computer could see the lacie d2 quadra. from Newegg.com i have five external drives with e-sata interfaces, and only two work with this board. from Amazon.com
