i replaced a lighter duty model fellowes shredder (not cross cut) with this model.
the shredder works very well though the the crosscut pieces are not as small as others i have used.
only thing it doesn't do is crosscut.

ok - so the micro-shred might be a bit over the top in the sense that a cross cut or confetti cut shredder are more than suitable for 99.99% of all shredding needs, but i still like it nonetheless.
except that the credit card/cd/dvd shredding function cuts in strips rather than cross cut (making it easy to reassemble the credit card and read the data), it's a good shredder.
the micro-shred is fantastic - i'll never go back to a cross-cut shredder.
it would be a 5 star if it shredded (even just a crosscut)the credit cards and cd's, it just cuts them into strips.

cross cut shredding was very important and the shredder had to be small in size - but my old one had these features.
it's much more than a fashion statement, with a a powerful motor, a great cross-cut shredder blade system, and more feet per minute of shredding capacity than similarly priced units.

in the past i've had bad luck with shredders - both the strip type and the cross-cut type.

this is my 2nd shredder and 1st crosscut.
i've worked with several confetti cross-cut type shredders from various manufacturers and none last very long or can handler more than just a few sheets of paper at a time.
to offer, and this was the result: their c-120c "binford 2000" cross cut
however, i would like it even better if it did crosscut.
note: those of you looking for a cross-cut shredder should look elsewhere.
it doesn't cross-cut, so it spews out long strips of 1/4" wide paper.
cons it has a straight cut, not a criss cross cut.
there just is no comparison to my previous cross-cut shredder whose noise level seems like a jet engine by comparison.
to get a true cross-cut shred for the credit card, i feed the strips back into the shredder horizontally for a second pass.

pros it performs as fellowes advertised in that it shreds multiple sheets and credit cards into small cross-cut pieces.
my prior shredder was a cheap $10 one which worked fantastic but i wanted a crosscut and this is the junk i got.
