this shredder works very nicely and i am quite happy with its performance , however it is far from quiet, the noise being the reason four stars were given.

i must admit that i was always a little disappointed with the operating noise which i found was far from the advertized "silentshred(tm) offers ultra-quiet shredder performance for shared workspaces".

finally, the little progressive "efficiency graph" is neat to watch, although i doubt i would ever use it to optimize my shredding throughput, which is purportedly what it is designed for.

if you want a shredder that looks and costs heavy-duty, but with the performance of a much smaller and cheaper product, then the sb-99ci is for you.
