the 2 cons to this shredder are: 1)it does not shred 8 pages as it claims.
it's relatively quiet for a shredder and it shreds 8 pages and credit cards easily.
the reviewed item does do a good job on shredding, but i have yet to test it to a full sheaf of eight pages (the manufacturer's capability rating) because the recently acquired unit is a replacement
if i get too many pages in the shredder, i just reverse it and then move it to shred (some times more than once), and the shredder eventually completes.
although my first shredder worked fine, it didn't take as many pages and it shredded strips.
this shredder cut through several boxes of documents in over 2 days (far exceeding the supposed "limits" of 600 pages per day) - jammed only when i really over-stuffed it, and was so easy to use it
it is not as noisy as the old shredder and i believe it accepts pages faster.
12 pages no problem and ran it for a good 5 minutes without an issue.
the capacity is supposed to be 12 pages maximum but i've fed it as many as 15-20 pages with no problems.

contract specialists shred fat contract documents one after another all day long, a fat fist-full of pages in every pass.
i've found that this helps keep everything feeding square to the cutters and pages don't fold up and get doubled over.
it is very easy to load the documents in, and it is handy that the shredder indicates when it believes you are putting too many pages in and it will jam.
it takes 17 pages at once and most shredder bags and some recycling bags fit into the bin.
this thing chews up cds and credit cards like there paper and it can shred the number of pages they claim.

had to let it rest 2 times after an hour + of shredding sections of a 1500 page book, but the motor started up the next day.
it slows down when you put in the max amount of sheets but works fine and faster with lesser pages (obviously!).
this doesn't seem to do quite so well with 8 pages.
i had a smaller shredder but it would do only a few pages at a time.
it's size and capacity are probably more compatible with the needs of a small office/home office (e.g., shredding >50 pages/day).
although i have not specifically tested it's 17 page capacity, i am confident it will handle that quantity.
in summary, it works great, but for my usage, easily 100+ pages a day (and sometimes much more) if i could do it over, i would buy an even heavier duty fellowes.
i love not having to open all those credit card offer and unfold the pages to feed them through.
typically, we shred several hundred pages per day.
only possible downside would be the slightly short powercord, as well as the difficulty with actually shredding 15 pages per pass.
the only caveat is don't try to force too many pages through at one time.
this does prevent the onerous task of removing a jammed stack of pages from the feed slot, but, the machine still stops if overfed.
i purchased this shredder after breaking/jamming two other shredders that claimed to be able to handle 5-8 pages at once.
is very heavey but thats what you get for a heavey duty shredder up to 8 pages at once.

i'm not sure a "5 page" shredder is accurate, because i think it will balk at 5 pages, unless it's tissue paper, and it wouldn't serve a business well, but i'm a happy shredder.
it works for up to 5 pages of papers at one time and has gone for as long as 15 minutes without cooling down.
pros: do you really need to shred more than five pages at a time?
so after every 10-15 pages i have to get out a pair of needlenose pliers and pull the impacted paper out of these tiny slots.
