except that the credit card/cd/dvd shredding function cuts in strips rather than cross cut (making it easy to reassemble the credit card and read the data), it's a good shredder.
it even shreds credit cards, cds and dvds into tiny confetti.
the cd/dvd shredder part is actually a different feed than the paper shredder, a feature not seen on many machines.
my boyfriend recently shredded 20 dvds and it accomplished the amazing feat.
it is quiet, will shred credit cards with ease and also do cd/dvd's through a separate strip cutter.
i did have some issues with "shredding" a dvd, but i don't really plan on using it for that anyway.

i have shredded up to 12 sheets of paper at one time (shredder works a little harder but still smoothly shreds), a couple of credit cards and approximately 15 cd/dvd disks.
there is a flap near the feeding throat that you can flip down to allow you to feed credit cards or cds or dvds in straight.
i shredded some cds and dvds and they make a mess because of the paint on the non-writable side.
it is almost like getting the cd and dvd destroyer for free.
i haven't used the cd/dvd/credit card shredder so i cannot critique that aspect.

this thing really does shred cds and dvds one at a time of course.

i specifically picked out this shredder because it was suppose to shred cd/dvd and it gets jammed every single time you put a cd in.
the only thing it will not do that was advertised at amazon was shred cds &dvds.
will not shred cd's or dvd's.
if i had it to do over again, i would definitely spend a little extra for a unit that was a bit heavier duty (look for ability to shred cds/dvds, which this unit will not do, as a tip-off).
it also sounds like it's working quite hard when shredding a credit card or cd/dvd.
