credit cards are no match for it but i have not shredded a cd yet.
this shredder is a monster in a good way.it will shred paper like nothing,and i've had a few credit cards that the fellowes 32177 ate like there was no tomorrow.i feel i bought a very good product.
this product is great, have shredded so many papers, the best is the credit card shredder.
this shredder has been excellent - very good quality on the shred, doesn't make noises like a dinosaur with indigestion when you feed a cd or a credit card through it, and the safety mechanism hasn't
the best part is that now when those annoying junk-mail credit card offers come in, i can just feed that entire envelope in the shredder without opening it and taking out the fake cards.
it shreds many sheets of paper at a time and does a great job on credit cards.

i was a little skeptical about the credit card shredder and was afraid to use it, but it worked like a charm.

as others have pointed out, the cd and credit card shredder is a separate slot and shreds in rather large strips.
someone else mentioned that this is not a good choice for credit cards - i agree.
i had a ten year old fellows shredder that would only do a few sheets at a time and that got severe indigestion if a credit card was pushed into it.
was very slow and i had to open all junk mail because my old shredder would jam when i tried to feed in whole letters with envelopes, especially if they contained plastic cards such as credit cards.
it makes quick work of all the envelopes filled with credit card offers and the paper that i need to shred for my part-time consulting work.

i haven't tried to shred a credit card with it yet, but as far as paper is concerned, it works quickly and efficiently.
it's supposed to prevent you from overfilling the shredder slot, but it won't even allow you to shred a single envelope with a credit card application.

the royal paper shredder 1280mx is the best paper shredder i ever had when i first got it i must have shreeded 6000 papers and it didn't jam once and the cd/credit card shredder works like a charm.

i do a fair amount of shredding (i shred all credit card offers, all my bills, all my receipts, etc) and i really like this product.
i remove all non paper elements (mainly the glue used to hold down advertisement credit cards (very bad for shredders), paper clips, etc.)
