I purchased this shredder specifically for destroying CD media, which it excels at, and floppy diskettes for which slots no longer exist on any computers I own. It shreds the CDs quickly and effectively; also does credit cards quickly and effectively. Amazon's product information for this model (240130) is partially incorrect. The product description says it also can shred floppy disks, but this is NOT true. from Amazon.com I also tried some paper...this model requires you to fold the sheets in half, and you pretty much have to fold an 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of paper exactly in half, or it won't fit through the slot.
