I purchased the Royal 160MX crosscut shredder to replace a Boston strip shredder that I have used for years at home for small office/home office needs. I wanted a quality crosscut shredder for added security. from Amazon.com This makes it highly unlikely that anyone would even attempt to reassemble a cross-cut document, much less one document from among hundreds of pages of co-mingled confetti. So, if you're serious about shredding, buy a cross-shredder device. In addition to paper, this thing utterly destroys CDs and credit cards - as the pieces are 3/16" wide, but even shorter than 1". The shredder is shipped in the factory box, with large Kapox protectors at each end, with the device itself wrapped in plastic, for more protection. from Amazon.com I finally decided to get a new shredder when the fellowes couldn't accept some back_up CDs/DVDs with some sensitive information on them. It ate about 1/4 of the first disc and decided it was full. I'm really impressed with the Royal I bought myself for Christmas, it's the first one of it's brand I had. It was an indulgent purchase, being pretty much double the amount I ever spent on a shredder. from Amazon.com The shredder is fine and it came really fast, but this Royal doesn't need the Fellowes oil that is recommended. It's too bad that Royal let such a stupid problem infect what I am willing to assume is a well designed machine.
