I had been using a foil razor for years now and was just never satisfied. I liked the features of this Philips Norelco so I gave it a chance. Without a doubt it is the BEST shave I have had in years. from Amazon.com Also, don't, and I repeat DON'T EVER get the cleaner/ charger circuitry wet. If you do, give it two days to dry out or the cleaner will be quite erratic in it's operation and could quite possibly burn out. I've had four Norelco razors in my lifetime and this is BY FAR the best! When the new models came out, I actually saw no need to upgrade. from Amazon.com Normally I do not write reviews but this Norelco 8160XL Speed XL Mens Rechargeable Shaver is one of the best electric shavers I have ever used and being over 50 years old I have used many including other Norelco and Remmington rotary shavers. No electric razor will shave as close as a blade but this one comes very close. from Amazon.com So far it's been the best I've owned--and it's a refurbished unit. I charged it the day I got it, and it's still got a decent charge in it over all those days of daily shaving. The ability to clean the blades under running water is nice, of course, and I'm getting the smoothest shave--so far--of any electric I've owned.
