i didn't have to adjust the tension or anything else; i just followed the threading instructions (making sure to thread in the right direction) and it was a breeze right out of the box.

yeah, it won't work right out of the box but you need to bear that in mind and just spend a few minutes adjusting the thread tension and other things that i'm not familiar with.
