That's a cotton top, a thick cotton middle, and a cotton bottom, and while I was a little nervous that it wouldn't fit under the "foot" it did fine.

All in all, the Brother is a good machine so far, although a bit touchy with the bobbin & botched under stitching for material a bit thicker than standard cotton.

it pulls lighter fabrics like cotton down into the bobbin.also the feed dogs do not allign, they are 15 degrees off so good luck staying within your seam allowance with the speed you must use inorder to keep tension...i would definately not recomend ...

I have not tried this yet with heavy weight materials but I have used it with light weight rayon, silk, cotton, heavy flannel, and poly fibers.
