Best Sewing Machines for Leather, Canvas

i've sewn leather with it, and denim, and ballistic ripstop nylon webbing, and 4 layers of faux fur, and satin.

the needle that came with the machine (too lazy to change it), and it performed flawlessly for both sewing the zipper between heavy layers of canvas and flannel and re-sewing the 5 large buttons.

if your sewing multiple layers of fabric of leather, this machine won't handle it very well.

this hasn't been my experience, as i just repaired a thick leather purse without any issues.

it seems to handle most things i throw at it (mostly light-weight to medium fabrics and elastic), but i don't know how well it will handle heavy duty fabric like denim or leather.

it has done all the jobs i have wanted to do with it so far; which included hemming pants, sewing a few repairs on clothing, and making a canvas shopping bag.

it ran through 8 layers of heavy canvas like it was a single quilting square.

i tried to use leather once, and immediately gave up and handstitched my project instead.

it sews beautifully even through 6 layers of heavy canvas.
