the decorative stitches are also perfect with no adjustment needed, the machine does it all by itself at the click of the button of your choice.
not a heavy duty machine, but a great machine that does well with day-to-day mending, light-weight sewing.
i love that it can make different decorative stitches too and i've only started playing with those.
i have tried out all the decorative stitches, and look forward, on spring break to much more.
i am a beginning sewer, but can already tell that this is a heavy-duty machine that will do many great things- there are lots of features i love about it, and the computerized functions and stitch
it has plenty of functions--utility & decorative stitches & 4 built-in buttonholes--and comes with lots of accessories, including special presser feet.
i was accustomed to an old heavy duty singer.
i think it was worth the price i paid, but glad i've kept my sturdy old white machine too.
it's a sturdy machine and has worked terrific at all our locations.one small problem we found is easy operator error because it's easy to lean against the knee-lifter while hemming if you don't
it is not big but sturdy and does a very good job.
it isn't flimsy at all, it even has a little motor in the back.
my only complaint, is that the zig-zag and decorative stitches seem to work only 80% of the time, sometimes the machine will "forget" what it was supposed to do, and will sew a few straight stitches
pros: lightweight, easy threading, sews on buttons, automatic 1-step buttonholer, decorative stitches, quick change feet cons: may be best on lightweight fabrics, sometimes bundles bottom thread.
this product is cheaply made and does not function properly.
we are concerned about the number of plastic parts & durability.
i know it's not the heavy duty kind with bells and whistles that costs a pretty penny.
the sewing machine, is built very cheaply, does not even sew correctly, i understand i didnot pay that much, but to feel you really are just ripping people off,its an item i ended up throwing out,
this machine is really cheaply made.
not heavy duty enough.
just received my heavy duty singer sewing machine & i love it.
i also like to make reversible fleece jackets and this machine is so fast and durable that i finished a jacket in less than two hours, zipper included.
i have finally found the machine with the "old time" standards of durability!
i sew for the public and have needed a heavy duty professional machine.
i ordered the singer heavy duty on wednesday and received it friday.
i can't believe how well built this thing is for the money you spend on it!
i highly recommend it unless you're a heavy duty seamstress who needs something with more options.
its too small for clothes which need a sturdy machine to keep the stitch straight.the tension dial popped out when i tried to sew the first time.
this time is cheaply made!
but if your needs are small (no heavy duty thick fabric) and money is an issue, than i recommend this product.
this machine looks just as well made although it is reconditioned.
on the downside, it has a lot of plastic parts which may not be durable.
i gave durability a five even thoung it's only been only six months.
it does a beautiful job.on the downside, it has a lot of plastic parts which may not be durable.
the only down side is that the machine seems very fragile (however, that may not be exclusive or a negative to this machine...
it's durable, sound, and runs absolutely sensational.
for simple straightforward sewing tasks i recommend it highly but if your sewing is complex or fancy i would say that going a few steps up in the price and staying with singer or perhaps pfaff..
it is very sturdy and stitched great right out of the box.
i am looking for a lightweight and durable product...this was definitely not for me.
cons: it only works half the time and breaks easily.
normally i sew on a card table, but i hadto move this machine to a very sturdy wooden table because it aboutshook the card table to pieces.
