although the machine is very light and easy to carry, it doesn't feel or look cheaply made.

when i lifted the box and took out what seemed to be very light flimsy machine i thought to myself here we go....until i set it up and started to use it.

the decorative stitches are fun, but it did take a bit of time to tweak my sewing style to the computerized system.

it's a little flimsy but does the job even though i have to fiddle with it a bit to get the arm to wrap around the needle.

on the downside, it has a lot of plastic parts which may not be durable.

i gave durability a five even thoung it's only been only six months.

i have used them to decorate clothing for my granddaughter.

for simple straightforward sewing tasks i recommend it highly but if your sewing is complex or fancy i would say that going a few steps up in the price and staying with singer or perhaps pfaff..

it is very sturdy and stitched great right out of the box.
