From all the information on line I selected the Brother Sewing and Embroidery Machine it is GREAT. It is simple and does all your basis stitches plus embroidery with built in selection of stitches. from Amazon.com I really like my machine but found it difficult to locate a Brother dealer in my area who could answer all my questions. I have completed my first project and find myself already wishing I had gone to a larger work area. from Amazon.com It started out promising although I did find my manual was missing a bunch of pages. I checked brother's online support to see if they had any answers to the questions I had in setting it up and found there is no online FAQ or help for this sewing machine (very misleading because it seems like there is one but all searches return no results.) The instructions were not great but not too hard to figure out how to wind the bobbin and thread the machine. It started out sewing great! from Amazon.com It handled whatever I gave it. I then got the exact machine a week later and got it set up to zig zag again and it wouldn't sew at all the very first time.
