It has a hard plastic cover, which I was surprised to see, I thought I was going to have to buy a case. There is one downside, the foot control is lightweight and feels cheap, I guess you could always get another one if needed. But other than that I couldn't be happier with the Euro Pro 8660. from Amazon.com I got my machine quickly and set up to sew.
