some of the pieces, like the plastic panel over the bobbin, seem flimsy, but it should be ok if handled with proper care. from Amazon.com it has a needle threader that works and is easy to use. from Amazon.com threading the machine is very easy and i like the bobbin window. from Amazon.com it sews a nice balanced straight stitch, a nice hemming stitch and other decorative stitches. from Amazon.com this brother has a wide range of stitches, a needle threader, free-arm capability for sewing circular items and will sew several layers of fabric. from Amazon.com it took me a very long time to figure that out and to get the settings right to feed the fabric i was using. from Amazon.com my one big complaint is the instructions for the one step button hole. from Amazon.com I am an absolute beginner...meaning, I know what a sewing machine looks like, but I never actually touched one.
