Pros: Good form factor, Good Price. Cons: Having trouble detecting the 3rd and 4th SATA RAID, Looking for a BIOS Update to see if this will help it, have fiddled with the IDE Configuration and nothing has detected the 4 drives, just the first two. from Newegg.com Pros: I purchased this to setup and run as a web server, ASUS has quality behind their name and this server piece lives up to their reputation. The copper heat sink, hard drive trays, fans and shrouds are all high quality. from Newegg.com Pros: Lots of great features for a great price Cons: I can't get this unit to POST with ECC memory. I have placed multiple calls to ASUS and have pretty much got the run around, saying my memory is not supported. However we have multiple ASUS servers, and the only unit that doesn't work is this one. from Newegg.com Pros: Purchase this barebone server along with an Intel Xeon X3220 (775) Quad-Core CPU, 8GB (4x2GB) of Crucial DDR2-667 Unbuffered ECC memory, and two WD 500GB RE2 drives, all from Newegg. I was impressed with the locking SATAII connection cables and there is ample space for PCI-E (Express) cards on the riser. I thought the box was pretty quiet compared to other servers I've built. We installed 3Ware RAID cards and had not trouble connecting them to the backplane. from Newegg.com They have been solidSolid construction, nice drive backplaneSupport 800Mhz RAM (last version supported 677 max) and newer 45nm CPU'sTwo expansion slots, both PCI-X and PCI-e (watch out on PCI-e card, it's on same side as CPU and some full length cards may be tight) Cons: So here's the rub. Since the last version they:- Reduced Power Supply from 400w to 315w- Reduced Fan Count in middle of server from 6 to 4- Old version had one fan dedicated to directing flow over memory slots - this one has none. The three in the center they carried over are *all* channeled over CPU, there is NOTHING generating airflow over the RAM banks in this version- You can tell the old version had a motherboard specifically designed for the chassis. from Newegg.com Pros: Works running windows home server for home network.
