if i had to have one complaint it would be nice if the power supply could come from existing usb port (vs an ac adapter), but since i'm just using it for a usb mouse i don't need the external usb from Amazon.com i would plug in an external usb hard drive and i would hear the windows device sound, like it has just recognized the drive, then the mouse cursor would freeze. from Amazon.com it would work fine with all the other devices i was using (thumb drive, printer, mouse). from Amazon.com the only thing i can't get it to run is my usb powered wd passport 320gb external drive, but i haven't tried using it with the card's included power cord plugged in. from Amazon.com it used to take me 8 or 9 hours to backup up my laptop, now i can do it in 2 hours. from Amazon.com i have a compaq presario v2000 running windows xp. from Amazon.com with 4 ports i can hook up my external hard drives, printer, dvd burner and printer. from Amazon.com my wife's laptop only had two usb ports to start with and they both became damaged over time. from Amazon.com this card is not fully compatible with my windows xp laptop. from Amazon.com i have an older laptop and needed usb 2.0 on it. from Amazon.com
