This card has been a disaster! First, the product came with a bare bones installation procedure. The driver on the Sabrent website contained an 18-page installation manual, but still was unable to install the device, as the wizard kept identifying it as and MTD-0002, whatever that is. My Tecra M4-s435 never recognized the hardware correctly, and now, even though the device is not present (sent it back to TigerDirect after deciding not to throw it against the tree after all), my computer keeps trying to install it after each reboot and crashes constantly. from Tigerdirect.com I too had many problems with this product. Anytime I would plug a devise supporting USB 2.0 into this card my machine would freeze. I emailed Sabrent Technical support only to get a response that, in their opinion, my laptop could not supply enough power through the PCMCIA slot to support USB 2.0. I used the included power cable designed to bring power through my existing USB port but the computer froze once again. from Tigerdirect.com Card appeared to work fine until I actually tried to plug things into it. After that I didn't get a single thing to work. Contacted Sabrent who were not helpful at all and blamed any malfunction on the components I was plugging into the card (all of which work when not plugged into the card). Provided both card and USB drive with appropriate power sources, still didn't work. from Tigerdirect.com Pros: Works right out of box on linux Cons: The USB->card power cable doesn't seem to provide enough power for my portable hard drive. Have to use a USB cable that has a second connector (for power only) to one my usb 1.1 port. The product/box bears no lables of sabrent. As soon as I ejected the card, everything works fine. This product is made by Sabrent (which doesn't even put their name on the product). I contacted Sabrent and a lady answered speaking Chinenglish telling me to submit an email to tech support. from Amazon.com this is an awesome product for those of us without usb 2.0 on their laptops. from Tigerdirect.com i also had a little trouble getting it to work with my ext hard drive and my dell inspiron 2600. from Tigerdirect.com
