the pieces come apart, but I believe this makes it better and allows for more imaginative play. You can take the hand off and float it around the room for instance. You can pull it apart and use different portions and 'find' all the pieces to the clubhouse (as they do in one episode or another). My kids loved this toy so much that they spent 2 days not playing with their other toys because they were so enthralled with it. from Amazon.com My Mom bought the Mickey Raceway & the Clubhouse for my twins, a boy and a girl, age 2.
