The other reviews are correct to mention the poor focusing ability and that there's too much reflectivity on light colored objects. The clarity when you get things in focus (which isn't TOO hard on 100x and 200x) is amazing, even on an older SD television. It's not an amazing microscope, but it's perfectly capable. What it looses in quality, it more than makes up for in accessibility and fun. from Amazon.com I wonder what happened to the first review I entered! It was so easy to get started playing with it. We just plugged it into the TV, and focused on any and everything we could find. The only trouble with it was the switch where you turn it on doesn't always work properly. We have to turn it off and on several times before the picture quits rolling on the tv. My biggest disappointment was the cord isn't long enough to get away from the TV to reach something that you can't move closer to the TV.
