Best Scanners for Books

my 10 year old daughter loves dreaming up books, she illustrates them and writes chapter up on chapter...well this christmas i decided to publish one of her books on one of the sites that does it

my son is going back to college for another degree and with this scanner he's going to scan his books with the pdf function and then have all his books on his laptop and not have to lug them around!

i love that i can scan books as well - the lid props up to support scanning thicker/bigger items.

i don't do much document copying but was able to test using books, flyers, etc, and export to an instant pdf file.

pretty good scanner, easy to operate, light as a feather, thin as a large book.

the lid needs to be pressed down when scanning a page out of a book to prevent the dark areas in the center.

the only thing i had a problem with was that there was no manuel or instruction booklet whatsoever in the box.

more than adequate for photo scans to face book and documents to pdf.

unfortunately, the particular design of scanner is that (unlike most fat desktop scanners) it cannot scan 3d objects, therefore text near the spine of a book, which is not in actual and absolute

i did scan a book to test the shadow reduction feature and was disappointed.

from scanning single sheets of paper to regular size books.

obviously for heavier documents like booklets, books, etc.
