Best Scanners for Windows Vista

i had to get a new scanner for my desktop that runs windows vista 64 bit.

i am using windows xp and have had no problems to date, the user's guide seemed to be rather skimpy at first but found, after reading the guide, that the scanner is very easy to use and the guide is

installed on windows vista without a hitch.

there were more choices of resolution (under linux) than with the canoscan 8600f (which was used under windows xp, not linux compatible).

take it out of the box, plug in the usb cable (big plus it doesn't add yet another power adapter to my setup), windows vista automatically detects and installs the driver and you're ready to go.

quiet, ink isn't horribly expensive, works with windows vista :)

went from windows xp pro to vista ultimate x64.

i took someone's advice and downloaded the windows vista 64 bit driver from canon before using the scanner.

not sure if it was because of windows vista, or maybe because of adobe acrobat and photoshop (my main two programs that i use for scanning).

the canon installed easily enough in windows xp.

i followed the installation steps (windows vista) and it says a driver is missing.
