Best Scanners for Dpi

the pictures came out crystal clear and we scanned about 13 drawings in about 10 minutes...we only used the 400 dpi setting and it did an awesome job!

it's defaulted at 300 dpi and it goes up to 1200 dpi, maybe higher (check the specifications on their website, i'm not certain if it goes higher but i know it goes to at least 1200).

to make sure the tiff file type is included with this version, and it is (in the professional scan mode.) fabulously smooth images made from ordinary newspaper color ad inserts using only 800 dpi.

the scanned images at the highest resolution (4500 dpi) look great, and it doesn't take a ridiculously long time.

whereas the snapscan has four levels - normal (150dpi), better (200dpi), best (300dpi) and excellent (600dpi) - the epson has eight levels ranging from 75 dpi up through 600 dpi.

i ran a page through at 200 dpi and it felt as though it was ejected rather than fed.

i am not going to bother to find out how to get the scanner to read at higher than 300 dpi.

not for super-professional scanning [9600 dpi, slides, negatives] but good enough for the average scanner.

pros: small relative size.no power cord, as all the power needed comes thru usb.good image quality (1200 dpi) cons: initially did not work.

cons: advertised as having 2400x4800 opticle resolution, but i'm only getting the option of up to 1200x1200 dpi.

it's surely not what it's claimed to be, even only scanning at 300 dpi.

other reviewers have complained about not being able to scan at greater than 1200 dpi.

i usually scan things at 600 dpi and a full platter scan takes less than 30 seconds.

fast, high quality scanning at 1200 dpi.
