Best Scanners for Flatbed

if you have not used an affordable flatbed scanner before, understand that it is not a $10,000 photocopier.

a scanner: my primary function is to preserve long out of print and often rare history and theological texts, making them available to other scholars and researchers-- thus, it had to be a flatbed.

this is our 4th flat bed scanner and is by far the best (had problems with previous three).

i have had a lot of scanners over the years with my pc but was frustrated that i couldn't find a decent flat bed photo scanner for the mac until i saw the epson v300.

if you have a big jobs to scan, this scanner or any flat bed scanner is not for you.

i purchased this scanner to replace a very old hp 6200 legal flatbed scanner that died after 10yrs of occasional use.

i have owned several flatbed scanners and was somewhat hesitant about using a sheetfed scanner regarding quality and utility.

software default settings are the perfect mix of file size and quality that i'd been trying to find with my flatbed, vuescan, and acrobat pro.

it's constructed like an entry level model (light and not very sturdy), but the scans are a lot better than the 3 year old flatbed it's replacing.
