i haven't done any high-resolution photos, but it works well with text and low-resolution photos.

my only complaint is that its ocr software--which comes with it--plunks the scanned results only into notepad where i have to transfer it to word, but this is only a minor pain.

for example, if the paper is slightly wrinkled, after adjusting the settings, the jpg or pdf scan will not show the wrinkles and will darken the text as well.
