Best Scanners for Lid

much better than my old scanner lide 50, it's faster and produce good scan images, software is a bit harder than that of the lide 50, very satisfy with the purchase, will buy from canon again.

canon lide100 color image scanner (2923b002)other than that, it's great and i wouldn't hesitate to recommend this scanner to anyone who has basic scanner needs like me.

i am very pleased with the canon lide 100 color scanner.

judging the lide100 compared to that scanner, the lide100 is much better in terms of hardware, but the software is just plain annoying.

it is located on the bottom of the unit, and is used to lock the scanner bed, not the lid.

and checked the scanners available that were compatible with my new computer compaq with vista and found the canoscan lide 200 that works great although i had to learn the different ways to use it.

i did successive scans, pressing harder on the spine first with the scanner lid, and then under the lid with my hand, with little overall improvement.

i had used the lide20 before and it had worked with linux.

was torn between the canon lide100 scanner (a little less expensive, not linux compatible) and this epson (a little more expensive, but linux compatible); now i know i made the right decision.

only thing i didn't like is the lid being hinged to one side.

this too is only mildly annoying as the lid is detachable to accomodate any size document/catalog.

still, i was confused whether to get this one, which seems especially for film, a canon lide 200 scanner, or a scanner with sheet feed to enable me to feed in lots of documents and photos.
