It will detect and stop scan when there is a double feed, but will not back paper out and try feeding again. Instead, you have to manually clear the jam and start the scan over again. Overall, this is a good scanner, but given the choice to buy again, I would buy the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 instead.
