ReviewI purchased this scanner to replace a Microtek i800. The Microtek had many problems from the very first usage including dirty glass, a nagging habit of having a reddish band appear on one side after the scanner had been on for a short while. The Epson has worked perfectly from the beginning and is very, very fast relative to the Microtek. from Dell.com I use the V700 in my photo lab at school. It will do medium format (6x9) and smaller (35mm). The scanner's cost is one quarter of the Epson V900 and the ONLY thing you get with the V900 is large format (4"x5") at the SAME dpi/ppi as the V500.
