I received this item as a gift. It did not come equipped to work with my broadband card from Verizon (Pantech's UM175) but after updating the firmware, it's working great! I have placed it in the location with the best reception in the house, and it delivers incredible speeds to anywhere in the house. from Amazon.com It is downhill from there. The drops get more frequent until the router becomes all but unusable. I have exchanged the router once from Amazon and once from Netgear directly. The one problem was that about every 3-5 minutes the Internet link would drop for no apparent reason, then reconnect. It seemed to happen most when more than one PC was connected via wireless. My wired connection works most of the time, and the wireless work a bit of the time. The clitch with XP is the router loses the signal with the cell tower then quickly redials, there is a firmware update to supposedly fix it.
