If you are buying this unit and are planning to use the LPC features. The unit I received is not the one to get. I'm off to the Netgear site to be assured of getting the latest version of the same unit. I must also add that Amazon made the return as easy as possible. from Amazon.com I purchased this product after doing extensive research on router. I wanted to wait for the 3700 but with the hefty price tag I decided to stay with the 3500. So far the router has been working as designed .... from Amazon.com Pros: Gigabit switch works great. Decent price. from Newegg.com How nice??? Range was poor. I contacted Netgear support and they either get another model (dual band) because my Intel wifi card can achieve full speeds at 5ghz or return it. In order to avoid a re-stocking fee, I had to exchange it with a Belkin N+ router. from Amazon.com Love it! Upgraded from a Netgear B, then G, now this is my N. Using with 2 MacBook Pros(using N), 1 MacBook(N), 1 Mac Mini(N-at the far end of a 2 story house(perfect signal), 2 Dell Laptops(G), 1 Other PC Laptop(G), Playstation 3(G), Wii(G), and the occasional friend or family dropping by. from Amazon.com I redid the settings and it hasnt done that since. Worked perfectly fine after that. Other Thoughts: I guess I don't really need gigabit speed on a 4 port hub... but cant hurt. from Newegg.com tried installing a 3500 over a week ago. The problem occurred during installation when my desk top screen went blue. from Amazon.com fast, stable, have yet to see a drop connection. I had a linksys SRX400 WRT54GX4 and with signal strength "excellent" a blueray movie cuts in and out (not enough bandwidth), CONSTANT dropped connections.. Upgraded to Netgear WNR3500 with corresponding gear, and oh my gosh, night and day differnt. I can stream a blueray movie wirelessly across the house perfect! from Newegg.com I upgraded the firmware on mine the second I got it and didn't even bother trying to configure it until this was done. Other Thoughts: I've tried the Linksys 310n and a D-Link which is similarly priced. In an apartment complex with a crowded wireless space this Netgear out did them both by leaps and bounds. from Newegg.com Pros: Simple to set up, worked great for three months, covered 3500 sqft home without a problem. Was able to obtain speeds approaching 300Mbits, and worked flawlessly with other Netgear products (including a print server). from Newegg.com
