The router heats my living room better than my heater does. Figured that may be the problem. Called Belkin customer support. Finally figured out half of what the CSR from India was telling me. from Bestbuy.com ReviewI got tired of messing around with other brands that seemed to me to be almost disposable (needed to be replaced every couple of years), so I looked for something different. I only knew Belkin from cables and such, but I read a couple of the reviews, and thought it was worth a try. Literally, I powered it up, hooked all of my devices and network cables up to it and went to look for the manual to configure it, and by the time I got back it had configured everything on its own (except for wireless security -- I had to select the level and enter the key). from Dell.com Value: If you want/need a high quality router with excellent performance, sometimes you just have to close your eyes and buy. Ease of Use: With the LCD display, you can easily view your computer's bandwidth usage, the status of your network devices, your network's broadband speed and more. Performance: The performance of the Belkin N1 Vision is excellent. I use it for my desktop computer, my MacBook, and my Playstation 3. from Bestbuy.com Coverage is great. Other Thoughts: If you only need this router for a simple gigabit ethernet connection to a network and to use with your cable modem for high speed internet, then you're probably safe to get it. Otherwise, I sadly must recommend that you stay away from this one, which is too bad because Belkin products (been using them for 9+ years) are excellent as a rule. After I RMA'ed this router (THANKS NEWEGG!), I hooked my Belkin Wireless N router back up (100mb) and it's working again like a champ. from Newegg.com I also noticed that it ran rather hot. I am assuming that whatever went bad in it did so due to heat. Once I sent mine back for a replacemet, I started looking around and found this unit is getting bad reveiws all over the place, even on Belkin's forums. Other Thoughts: If I had the option to just return this for a refund, I would and I would buy one with a better rating. from Newegg.com I bought the original version of this router. It sucked in so many ways I can't even count. It finally had to be returned to Belkin and replaced with Verion 2 after it was stuck in an endless loop trying to boot. Version 2 seemed to work ok, until I had to reboot it. from Amazon.com Possibly the best looking router I've ever owned, yet the poorest performing one by far. Extremely unreliable, dropping my wireless connection every 45 seconds. Not only is online gaming not possible, Belkin's support on this issue is actually worse than unhelpful. from Amazon.com I purchased the N1 Vision router and am very happy with so far.
