other thoughts: replaced a speedstream 5500 and used a dir-655 router to connect for wireless everything has been stable and been running 6 computers, two through cat-5 and 4 wireless for a week and

*it would be a good idea to call your dsl provider in advance in order to obtain the proper login/password and the default gateway and dns server addresses just in case you end up needing them*

other thoughts: it took 2 tries to get it set up right but that is mainly because sbc (now att ) could not tell me anything about what protocol or anything else our connection supported.

i hooked it up put in my dsl user name and password and waited for while and it self configured and i was up and running in no time.

doesn't really bother me, just hope the 2wire router and this router will work at the same time on the same dsl /phone line -_-....

it's a breeze to set up (5 minutes or less if you just follow the cd and have your dsl provider information handy)

i had to call at&t 5 times before i got someone who would actually help me out and give me the info i needed to get it working.
