This is my first router. The booklet was fairly clear on the hookup, however the user name and password listed in the booklet was not accurate. The correct one was listed under a simular model on zonet-usa website. once access was permitted the user menu was straight forward. from Tigerdirect.com Not get recognized. You could cook food on it like a Foreman Grill.. Other Thoughts: I would stay AWAY from Zonet!!! If you want a good little router that works perfect, just buy a LinkSys instead. from Newegg.com Pros: I had purchased the Zonet ZFS3008P 10/100Mbps Ethernet Switch w/Auto-MDIX / Plastic Version – Retail which look identical to this Zonet switch. I bought mine back in July 2006. from Newegg.com Other Thoughts: I know zilch about networking, so when i bought this unit I was preparing myself to scour the internet for info and hook up instructions and adjustments and all of that. Wow! Didn't even have to ask Zonet for help. It's been hanging there on my wall for almost a year now and mostly I forget it's there. from Newegg.com Pros: Great price, Comes with a eithernet cable, easy to understand instructions. Cons: Did not work right out of the box and zonets return process does not make it easy to get a replacement router or a return. Other Thoughts: Before buying one of these you should read the what you need to do in order to return a faulty product for exchange. The requiremnets are available at the ZonetUSA web site under Support->RMA. One of the more interesting requirements is:"All return product(s) for credit/exchange must be in its original color-box including the Zonet Product Registration Card ..."So if you sent in your product registration card then you can't return you defective device. from Newegg.com Product failed after 12 days of use. It has worked reliably and I've never even minded the port forwarding being limited to 8 ports. Now I'm looking for a firmware update and can't find one anywhere, starting with zonet's homepage. Also, for some reason, although my windows xp box works perfectly with dhcp on this router, linux and win 2k3 server don't like the fact that it seems to send dns lookups directly from the external dns server (like the isp) rather than forwarding them itself. from Newegg.com Other Thoughts: I have had this router for over 8 months now.
