I also used the high slow-cook setting to prepare some buckwheat, which came out fine, but the quicker rice-cooking modes will work equally well on buckwheat or other grains with some experimentation.

I have so much more experimenting to do, I do recommend the cookbook by Hensperger/Kaufman because it will open your eyes to possibilities and educate you about rice & other grains.
