Best Rice Cookers and Steamers for Steaming Vegetables

i have yet to try it for steaming vegetables or lean meat or cooking rice and beans together, but the book comes with a bunch of varied recipes and its obvious that you can experiment with these once

we use our crc 400 rice cooker for cooking rice, oatmeal and steaming vegetables.

just be sure to put the steaming basket, even when you're not steaming vegetables.

when i say "in place", i mean as though you're steaming vegetables in it: perforated end down, open end up (the "cuisinart" logo stamped on the side of the basket should be right-side-up).

the rice cooker does an excellent job with several types of rice as well as steaming vegetables perfectly.

so far i've had very good results with white rice, brown rice, red rice, steel cut oats and steaming vegetables.

it also does well steaming vegetables in its dedicated steaming mode (or you can add fresh cut veggies directly on top of your rice near the end of the rice cooking cycle).

steaming vegetables in the included steaming tray is simlpe and produced a similar results to my efforts with a stove top steamer.

the price is great, rice is cooked excellent, steaming vegetables is easy.
