it seemed like a risk because of the price, but this is an excellent (really excellent) rice cooker.

brown rice takes longer than it says; but cooks it perfectly.
it is consistent in its steaming of vegetables, rice, artichokes, and whatever else we decide to steam.
the only things i would change are that i wouldn't use white for the bowls because when i use paprika and saffron in my rice it stains (the old versions were clear and much easier to clean).
it is so simple and easy to use, you will never go back to the old fashion way of steaming or making rice.
a very good product for people who need a smaller batch of rice to be cooked at a time.
